Title:
Dusty methodologies (w. t.)
Dust is everywhere and nowhere: found in the most intimate of crevasses and the most alien environments. Dust is a space where human and more-than-human microbial bacteria encounter pollutants, soil and interstellar particles, and it is only visible through its agglomeration and only becomes matter as such. The very nature of dust is unsettled, perpetually hovering over the ground or lifted by a burst of wind and transported across the globe, its scales do not obey fixed ontologies. PhD research examines the potential of understanding dust as a method, in order to experiment with its conflation scales, times, and materiality.
